The Nokia Lumia 800 has seen numerous firmware updates for fixing battery problems, backlight issues and various bugs. However, the latest patch had brought up strange volume behaviour, causing ringtones to reportedly start playing way too loudly for the first second of a call on the Finnish WP7 device.
And to fix it (rather thankfully), Nokia is releasing the 12072 firmware update, which addresses the volume issue. Furthermore, the update lets the camera automatically detect 50Hz and 60Hz flickering from electronic lights when flicker reduction is on. Power management behaviour is improved as well, thanks to better charger recognition.
The 12072 update should be up for grabs, so check your Zune software update to get it. Hopefully, this is the end of the road for issues regarding the Windows 7 phone.
